NDFP ‘pag kumalas air strike itatapat (‘Giving all’ sa peace talks kondisyon ni Duterte)

HINDI mangingimi si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na iutos sa militar na maglunsad ng air strikes sa mga kuta ng mga rebeldeng New People’s Army (NPA), kapag mu-ling bumagsak ang usapang pangkapayapaan ng gobyerno at National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).

“I will utilize the air assets. Before it was not really a popular, well, choice, option kasi… But this time ‘pag hindi tayo nagkaigi rito, I will not hesitate to use the full power of the state,” ayon kay Pangulong Duterte sa kanyang talumpati sa Baden Powell day (founder’s day) ng World Scout Organization of the Scout Movement and investiture ceremony ng Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP). Muling iginiit ng Pangulo, may mga kondisyon siya bago lagdaan ang bilateral ceasefire agreement, na pangunahing agenda sa fourth round ng peace talks sa Netherlands.

Kasama sa mga kondisyon ng Pangulo, ang magkaroon ng malinaw na parameters o terms of reference (TOR) para sa ceasefire, hindi kikilanin ng gobyerno ang idineklarang teritoryo ng CPP-NPA-NDFP, kaila-ngan itigil ng mga rebelde ang koleksiyon ng revolutionary tax, at pagsunog sa mga ari-arian, at da-pat palayain ang lahat ng bihag ng mga rebelde.

“As you will agree with me, the forging of the ceasefire agreement is not about “giving in” or “gi-ving up”, it is about “gi-ving all” for peace. This is the covenant of President Duterte to our people. And as peace workers ourselves, we should be one with him,” ani GRP panel chief Silvestre Bello III, sa kanyang opening statement sa umpisa ng 4th round ng peace talks sa The Netherlands kahapon.
