TIWALA at pagsunod sa batas ang naging batayan ng 400 katao na kusang sumuko kay Barangay Chairman Danilo “Danny” Teves.
Halos napuno ng users at pinaghihinalaang tulak ang barangay hall sa Barangay Putatan nang sumang-ayon sila sa panawagan ng kanilang cabeza de barangay.
Gumamit ng “peace and friendly” approach si Teves para maenganyo niyang kusang sumuko ang 400 suspected users at tulak na pawang residente sa nasasakupan niyang barangay.
Bago pa man, sinimulan na ni Teves at ng kanyang mga kagawad noon pang Hunyo ang house-to-house visitation at information drive sa kanyang constituents upang bigyan sila ng babala at umiwas sa paggamit ng droga o pagbebenta nito at magbagong buhay. Dahil sa kanyang paliwanag marami nang residente ang boluntaryong sumuko sa kanya. Ang ilan sa kanila ay humingi ng payo.
Sinabi ni Teves na maglalaan siya ng livelihood program para magkaroon ng puhunan ang kanilang pamilya bilang tulong sa kanila sa hanapbuhay.
Kaagapay ni Kap. Teves sa kanyang kampanya ang local na pulisya ng Muntinlupa at ang Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Office (DAPCO) ng city hall ng Muntinlupa na nagbigay payo at pangaral sa mga sumukong drug dependents.
Matapos manumpa, pumirma sa isang kasulatan ang mga sumukong drug dependents, sila ay isa-isang pinauwi sa kani-kanilang mga tahanan.
Ang Barangay Putatan ang pinakamalaking barangay sa Muntinlupa City. Very crowded ang barangay na ito.
Sa Muntinlupa City, mahigpit na ipinatutupad ni Mayor Jaime Fresnedi ang kampanya ng lokal na pamahalaan laban sa illegal na droga.

PRO4A PERSONNEL ATTENDED REGIONAL CASCADING OF PROJECT “DOUBLE BARREL”
THE Police Regional Office CALABARZON personnel attended this week the Regional Cascading of Project “Double Barrel”-an Anti-Illegal Drugs Campaign in support to the Barangay Drug Clearing Strategy of the government and the neutralization of illegal drug personalities nationwide.
Among the attendees were the Command Group, Regional Staff, Provincial Directors together with their staff, Chiefs of the Regional Support Units, Chief of Regional and Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group, Public Safety Companies, PCP Commanders and Chiefs of Police of the whole CALABARZON.
Police Senior Supt. Florencio T. Ortilla, chief of Internal Security Operations Division (ISOD) of the Directorate for Operations of the National Headquarters presented the PNP Campaign Plan “Double Barrel” while Senior Supt. Rhodel Sermonia, chief of the Intelligence Operations Division, Directorate for Intelligence discussed the Project TokHang.
The project aims to equally address illegal drug problems in the barangays and pursue the neutralization of illegal drug personalities as well as the backbone of illegal drugs network operating in the country.
The project “Double Barrel” will be implemented in two-pronged approach which is the ‘PROJECT TOKHANG’ (Lower Barrel) and the ‘PROJECT HVT’ (Upper Barrel). The lower barrel approach will be the conduct of PROJECT TOKHANG (TOTOK-Katok and Hangyu-Pakiusap) in all drug-affected barangays throughout the country in coordination with the LGUs particularly the Provincial/City/Municipal/Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs), NGOs, stakeholders, and other law enforcement agencies. This project is a practical and realistic means of accelerating the drive against illegal drugs in affected barangays which involves the conduct of house to house visitations to persuade suspected illegal drug personalities to stop their illegal drug activities.
The “Upper Barrel” approach will be the conduct of PROJECT HVT (High Value Targets) by dedicated focus teams from Anti-Illegal Drug Group (AIDG), PROs, Districts of NCRPO, PPOs, and CPOs. The focus teams shall be composed of investigators, intelligence operatives and tactical personnel from National Support Units who shall be detailed to AIDG, while focused teams from PROs, Districts of NCRPO, PPOs and CPOs shall be generated from the Regional Support Units and Public Safety Forces. The PROJECT HVT which is considered as a massive and reinvigorated conduct of anti-illegal drugs operations that will target illegal drugs personalities and drug syndicates.

Valfrie Tabian said that the response of the PNP calls for sustained engagement and coordinated action among the members of the rank, the different allied government and private agencies and most of all, from the various sectors of our community. “Now is the time for us to get this job seriously.
