Happy Anniversary & Thanks so much NBI!

UNA sa lahat, I would like to greet the men and women of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) under the leadership of Director Atty. Virgilio Mendez a happy 79th anniversary.

Ang bilis ng panahon, 79 years old na ang NBI, kung baga sa tao ay may katandaan na ang NBI. While the bureau has its ups and down since its founding on Nov. 13, 1936, nobody can simple ignore the fact that the NBI is aging gracefully. Hindi tumatanda nang paurong. Kung ang alak ay lalong sumasarap habang tumatagal, ang mga opisyal at tauhan at kawani nito, ay lalong  nagiging mahusay at lalong gumagaling sa kanilang sinumpaang tungkulin. I can say with all honesty that they are blessings to the Filipino people.

The NBI is simply the best, the cream of the crop so to speak in its field of expertise. ‘Pag di kaya ng ibang law enforcement agency natin, the NBI takes charge. It is the court of last resort, when all other law enforcement fail.

At the moment the NBI is again at the forefront of the laglag bala scandal  at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport  (NAIA),  Justice Secretary Alfredo Benjamin Caguiao, on orders  of President Noynoy Aquino  has created a special task force to look into that matter.

Ito ay patunay lamang kung gaano  kalaki ang respeto ng Pangulo sa NBI.

Kulang ang buong isang araw  kung iisa-isahin kong banggitin ang mga accomplishment ng NBI.

Indeed , the NBI  has gone a long way since it was formed on November  13, 1936 by the then Commonwealth government as division on investigation  till the enactment into  law of Republic Act 157, which give the agency the present name. For that I congratulate director  Atty. Virgilio Mendez, Asst. Director Luigi de Lemos, Deputy Director Atty. Edmund Arugay , Deputy Director Edward Villarta, Deputy Director  Atty. Antonio Pagatpat, Deputy Director  Joy Doloiras , Deputy Director Raffy Ragos at Deputy Director Roland Argabioso at ganoon din ang lahat ng ahente ng NBI at mga kawani nito for a job well done.

Ganoon din, pinapupurihan ko rin ang mga kasamahan natin sa media, reporters, cameraman, photographers  na kaagapay palagi ng NBI sa lahat ng oras.

Ito lang ang masasabi ko sa NBI, you’re the best, again mabuhay and congratulations on your 79th NBI anniversary.
