Lea, iginiit na ‘di pa raw malaya ang ‘Pinas

TALAGANG pinanindigan ni Lea Salonga ang kanyang Independence Day rants na, “Our country is not yet debt-free, poverty-free, crime-free, or corruption-free. So what are we free from exactly and why do we celebrate it?”

Sa tweet niyang iyon ay binatikos si Aling Lea like this guy who said, “our celebration is about being free from the colonizers, not being free from the major maladies of the country. ;)”

Sago naman ng singer, “Indeed, we are independent from the colonizers that once lorded over our country. But I can’t celebrate just the same. #JustMe.”

Ano ba naman itong si Aling Lea, parang walang matinong mensahe para sa ID celebration. Bakit hindi siya masaya na pinahahalagahan pa rin ang mga bayaning nagbuwis ng buhay para maging malaya tayo.

Aling Lea, we are finally free from our colonizers, mayroon na tayong pagkakakilanlan, hindi na tayo sunod-sunuran sa mga dayuhan. Isn’t that worth celebrating?

Naku, kung ganyan ka mag-isip, Aling Lea, better leave this country. If you’re not proud to be a Filipino, lumayas ka sa Pilipinas. We don’t need you here. Intiendes?
