MALAKING event ang nakatakdang mangyari sa October 12, 2014 dahil tatangkain ng Pilipinas na mag-set ng bagong Guinness world record sa larangan ng Zumba. Isa ang TV host/actress na si Regine Tolentino sa nasa likod ng proyektong ito.
Magaganap ito sa Quezon City Memorial Circle, sa ika-apat ng hapon. Ito ay proyekto ni Mayor Herbert Bautista bilang bahagi ng selebras-yon ng 75th Diamond Jubilee ng Quezon City.
Ang kasalukuyang Guinness world record for largest Zumba class sa isang venue ay hawak ng India, na mayroong 6,671 participants. Naganap ito noong September 15, 2012.
Ilan ang inaasahan ninyong makikipag-participate sa record breaking feat na ito? “We expect to draw a crowd of at least 10,000 people gracing the dance and fitness floor,” saad ni Regine.
Ano’ng na-feel mo nang nalaman mong magiging part ka ng event na ito?
“Sobrang excited, as I’ve said, ang Zumba ay nakaka-addict talaga, e! he-he-he! This is the biggest event for 2014 in the whole Philippines as of October 12!
“Eto na ang pinakabonggang event for Zumba ever staged in the Philippines! Join the fun, excitement and party on October 12! Let’s party!”
Kasali rin daw dito si Lander Vera Perez at ang kanilang anak na si Reigne. “Yes, sasali rito si Lander. Kasali rin dito pati ang daughter kong si Reigne Vera-Perez, who is the youngest licensed Zumba instructor in the Philippines.
“The team that will bring this project together are composed of members of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) of the Philippines spearheaded by Madelle Enriquez Paltu-ob, a former member of the 2-Time World Champion, the Philippine All Stars. Together with Prince Paltu-ob, the Zumba education specialist of the Philippines,” esplika pa ng tinaguriang Celebrity Dance Diva.
Ano’ng masasabi mo sa idea’ng ito ni Mayor Herbert na sungkitin ang Guinness record sa Zumba?
”Super magandang idea ito, Mayor Herbert is very involved. His secretary, Mr. Tadeo Palma is the Executive Director of the Jubilee committee.”
Bilang preparation dito, umiikot daw ang grupo nina Regine sa QC para mag-conduct ng Zumba event at hikayatin ang mga tao na makibahagi sa kanila.
Sinong mga celebrity ang inaasahan mong makikipag-participate rito? “Kami ni Lander… and we also invite Joshua and Jopay Zamora, Alma Concepcion, Mam Jessica Soho, Tippy Dos Santos, Aira of Sexbomb, Speed dancers and international zumba superstars, to join!”
Masasabi mo ba na maganda ang timing nito dahil talagang nagiging popular na ang Zumba ngayon sa buong bansa?
“Yes! It’s perfect timing that mayor Bautista became fully involved with our Zumba event. Because Zumba is the number-one fitness workout right now and the support is overwhel-ming!
”It’s truly amazing to see how many Pinoy fitness enthusiasts we have around the country. I’m so excited and honor to be a part of this event and eager to promote the Philippines as a fitness capital in Asia with record breaking numbers internationally!” Saad pa ni Regine.
