KASAMA ang beteranang aktres na si Suzette Ranillo sa horror film ng Viva Films, ang Rosario, na gaganap siya bilang si Anne.
Kumusta ang working experience sa kanilang direktor na si Roni Benaid?
“Matagal ko nang kilala si Roni,” unang sinabi ni Suzette.
“He has a calm approach, but he also has a brilliant and creative mind. Mabilis siyang magtrabaho, madaling katrabaho, walang arte, at napaka-humble.”
May plano ba siyang magdirehe ulit?
Naging direktor na si Suzette sa ilang pelikula in the past.
“I’d definitely like to, in time, and with the right project.
“It’s a huge responsibility to take on. I’m grateful that I had the chance to direct and act with my mom before she passed away, and I was fortunate to have that same experience with Nora [Aunor] as well.”
Dahil sa sinehan ipalalabas ang Rosario [August 5], tinanong namin si Suzette kung naniniwala siya na buhay na muli ang movie industry.
“Yes, buhay naman ang movie industry.
“Pero nagbago na ang viewing habits ng audience.
“Noong pandemic, everyone was required to isolate and keep their distance, and many people experienced paranoia, depression, and anxiety.
“Theaters, restaurants, and even churches were closed for a time, so people naturally turned to online platforms for entertainment.
“As a result, maraming sinehan ang napilitang magsara, at hanggang ngayon ay may ilan pa ring hindi muling nagbukas dahil hindi na nila kayang i-sustain ang kakulangan ng audience.
“Nasanay na rin kasi ang maraming tao na manood na lang sa bahay through online platforms, often for a minimal fee or even for free.”
Nasa Rosario sina Aubrey Caraan bilang si Beth; Yumi Garcia bilang Ave, at si Lance Carr bilang Caleb.
Kinumusta namin kay Suzette ang pakikipagtrabaho sa mga kabataang artista tulad nina Aubrey, Yumi, at Lance.
“They’re a group of respectful, level-headed, and promising young actors.
“If given the opportunity, I’d love to share some of the acting techniques that helped me when I was just starting in the business, in the hope that they can become even more effective actors.”
Nasa Rosario rin sina Meg Imperial bilang Magda; Jairus Aquino bilang James, at sina Bernadette Allyson at Rose Van Ginkel na mayroong mahahalagang papel sa pelikula.
