Jake sobrang proud kay Chie:  I’m so grateful I’m with the right girl

“CHIE has all the qualities that I’m looking for a wife.” Ito ang tinuran ni Jake Cuenca nang makatsikahan namin siya sa Spotlight presscon ng Star Magic noong Biyernes, July 11, 2025 sa Coffee Project Will Tower.

Pero hindi nangangahulugang malapit na silang magpakasal. Malayo-layo pa, giit ni Jake.

Tila napakalaki talaga ng impact o nagawa ni Chie Filomeno sa buhay ni Jake. Inamin ni Jake na never na rin siyang umiinom ng alak. Kahit social drinking ay hindi na niya ginagawa. Hindi tulad noon na napapasama pa siya sa ilang kaguluhan dahil sa pag-inom-inom.

At payo niya sa mga gustong tumigil sa pag-inom, “Just say no!”

“Respect your dreams, respect your goals, respect your manifestations, and just say no.”

Maraming ipinagpapasalamat si Jake sa kanyang career at personal na buhay.

“It’s been an amazing 2025, Bench to ‘Batang Quiapo’ and the same year iyong ‘What Lies Beneath’ is coming out. So sabi ko nakatutuwa but again there’s so much work to be done. It’s a long road ahead. So I’m just working hard and stay positive and enthusiastic,” sabi ni Jake nang kumustahin namin siya. 

Ang What Lies Beneath ay pagsasamahan nila nina Janella Salvador, Julia Barretto, Bela Padilla, Charlie Dizon, at JM de Guzman.

Malaki ang pasasalamat ni Jake na nakasama siya sa Batang Quiapo bilang si Miguelito  Guerrero dahil actor’s dream come true iyon sa kanya at sa iba pa.

“Actor’s dream come true ang masama sa  Batang Quiapo dahil your acting with all actor’s heroes. Hindi pa ako artista I really look up to kina kuya Albert Martinez, Tito Christopher de Leon. And to be with the set with Dante Rivero, Celia Rodriguez, Chanda Romero, Angel Aquino and all the great actors, Pen Medina, Ronnie Lazaro, sabi ko it’s the actor’s dream come true.

“For me it’s a playground. And tinanong din nila ako na, ‘do you feel pressure?’ I said no. I have the good time in my life I’m enjoying every sequence as it go and at the same time parang 23 years of experience everything feels so new. Kasi sabi nga ni Cillian Murphy said na, it takes 20 years to figure it out acting the craft. Kasi 20 years you’re doing it na for the right reasons, may experience ka na and now I feel like parang I started all over again. Parang ine-enjoy mo na, ang saya. 

“I wouldn’t say it’s easy dahil sobrang challenging lahat ng ipinagagawa but definitely it becomes a lot easier kasi nag-eenjoy ka eh. Nakakalimutan mo ang lahat ng hirap, pagod,” sabi pa ni Jake.

Wala na ring nararamdamang intimidation si Jake sa pakikipagtrabaho sa mga tinitingalang aktor kungdi itinuturing niyang blessings na nakatrabaho niya ang mga ito. 

Sa kabilang banda, bisyo na lang ni Jake sa ngayon ay ang mag-motor. Ito ngayon ang kinahihiligan niya.

“Riding motorcycles, nagve-vape ako, that something that I do But for me when I chases the more is the things I don’t chase wasting time or small talk anymore. I don’t hang out with someone that I will waste my time. For me if your time is precious and if your smart with it you can use it to your advantage, for your dreams, everything.

“I try to be the best actor I could be but I’m also try to be the best boyfriend I could be and I try to be the best son I think. If I can do right by the people that I love, do right by people in showbiz because of my career but most especially do right by my family, I think that’s a happy life what do you need more than that?”

Sinabi pa ni Jake na masuwerte siya na kasama niya ang tamang babae at iyon si Chie.

“I realize na I’m so grateful na I’m with the right girl na kapag nakikita ko si Chie it’s easy to just, I don’t have to…you have to give credit where credit is due. Mahirap na kapag gumagawa ka ng iba’t ibang role ang hirap kumawala roon, and andoon si Chie para umalalay and she understand.”

Iginiit pa ni Jake na sobrang proud siya kay Chie. 

“Wala na akong hahanapin pang ibang babae kasi she’s so nice and at the same time naiintindihan niya ako. She get’s me, parang for the first time may taong nakakaintindi sa akin. This one really understands.

“Sabay pa nga kaming pumunta rito kasi may trabaho siya sa ABS-CBN and minsan lang kami magkasabay.”

Suportado rin ni Jake sakaling magkatrabaho sila ni Chie. “Definitely I will give my full support,” sambit pa ng aktor.
