Pitmaster Foundation, suportado VIP program ni Digong

NAGPAHAYAG ng buong suporta ang Pitmaster Foundation para sa pagpapasa ng charter ng Virology Institute of the Philippines (VIP), isang priority project na nabanggit sa huling State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“We fully support the passage of the charter of the Virology Institute of the Philippines. The VIP will help address biological threats to the gamefowl industry of the country. Such threats include outbreaks of avian flu, the most recent concerning incident of which involves ducks and chickens having been detected with H5N1 in Central Luzon,” pahayag ni Pitmaster Foundation Executive Director Atty. Caroline Cruz, kasunod ng panawagan ng ilang sektor para sa pagpapasa ng naturang charter.

Ayon kay Atty. Cruz, umaasa silang ang naturang charter ay maipapasa sa panahon ng kasalukuyang administrasyon. “We are hopeful that the charter can be passed within this administration. From our understanding, the lack of a charter prevents the national government from assigning significant resources to the institute, even when the campus is already being built in New Clark City.”

Kompiyansa si Atty.Cruz na makatutulong ang VIP upang matiyak na ang gamefowl sector, na nag-eempleyo ng 1.6 milyong Pinoy at nagkakahalaga ng P50 bilyon, ay patuloy na makatutulong sa national development.

“The VIP is also critical to health resiliency, which is an advocacy of the Foundation. By being able to understand viruses better, the country can prepare for future pandemics which severely affected the lives and livelihoods of millions, including the gamefowl sector,” aniya.

Siniguro ng Pitmaster na handa silang makipatulungan sa Department of Agriculture (DA) at sa mga lokal na pamahalaan sa buong bansa, upang hikayatin ang breeders at iba pang stakeholders na mag-adopt ng mga pamamaraan upang masugpo ang H5N1 at iba pang avian diseases.

Ang Pitmaster Foundation ay isa sa pinakamalaking charities sa bansa at aktibo sa pagprotekta sa kalusugan ng publiko ngayong panahon ng CoVid-19 pandemic.

Sa pamumuno ng kanilang Chairman at entrepreneur na si Charlie “Atong” Ang, ang Foundation ay tinaguriang “the largest private charity provider of medical financial assistance” sa Filipinas.

Kabilang sa mga suportang ipinagkaloob ng foundation sa anti-pandemic efforts ng pamahalaan ay ang P50 milyong halaga ng mga antigen test kits at P50 milyong financial assistance para sa LGUs upang ipatupad ang mass testing; P20 milyong halaga ng mga homecare kits; vaccination incentives; at milyon-milyong libreng face masks para sa mga lokal na pamahalaan.

Aktibo rin ang foundation sa disaster relief efforts at pagtulong sa pagpapalakas ng healthcare system ng bansa.

Nakatuon ang foundation sa pamamahagi ng mga ambulansiya sa lahat ng mga lalawigan sa bansa at bumubuo ng mga programa para sa kapakinabangan ng mga taong may kapansanan o persons with disabilities (PWDs), at iba pang vulnerable sectors.
