NANINIWALA si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na patatalsikin siya ng pulisya’t militar kapag isinabak niya ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine National Police (PNP) sa digmaan kontra China sa agawan sa teritoryo sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).
Sa press conference sa NAIA Terminal 2 sa kanyang pagdating mula sa 3-day official visit sa South Korea, inihayag ng Pangulo, hindi niya isusubo sa tiyak na kamatayan ang mga pulis at sundalo para makipag-agawan sa teritoryo sa China sa WPS.
Wala aniyang bansang maasahan na agad aayuda sa Filipinas kapag nakipagdigmaan sa China.
“Can I rely on anybody’s help? If all of my soldiers will die there and all of the policemen to assist them, nadisgrasya ang Filipinas, sino ang managot? I. The people will execute me right at the Luneta and you are either inviting… If I do that, I either I am inviting trouble within my country or the military and police will oust me,” ani Duterte.
“Hindi ‘yan preparado silang go into a suicide. You would rather dispense me rather than lose their soldiers unnecessarily and needlessly,” dagdag niya.
Madali aniya para sa oposisyon ang batikosin siya sa kanyang posisyon sa WPS dahil sila ang makikinabang ngunit mismong kanyang mga kritiko ay hindi pumalag sa China nang sila ang nasa poder.
“Madali sabihin ‘yan e. ‘Pag sinabi ko ‘yan sa military pati pulis, “pumunta ka riyan, mag-suicide kayo.” Do you think they will follow me? I’ll be the first to — just like the others. I’ll have some trouble under states and eventually, the one who are now yakking will take advantage of that and gain power,” sabi niya.
Nagbabala si Pangulong Duterte na sakaling maglunsad ng kudeta ang pulisya’t militar at nagtagumpay na agawin ang kapangyarihan sa Presidente ay hindi na ibabalik sa sibilyan ang control sa pamahalaan at iiral ang military rule sa bansa.
“Now how many times did the military intervene in this country? Are you sure that this time they will give it back to the civilians? Just like the other sad experiences which they could suffer. Ibinabalik nila sa military civilian e,” saad ng Pangulo.
