MAY verbal approval ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., ang boluntaryong pagsusuot ng face mask sa open spaces bagama’t hinihintay pa ang paglalabas at paglagda sa executive order para maging ganap itong polisiya na ipatutupad sa buong bansa.
“So actually the very reason why we are having this presscon and initially informing the public of this was because there was this verbal approval from the President when they talked with Secretary Benhur from DILG. But it stated in the IATF Resolution No. 1 Series of 2022 kung saan nakalagay that the IATF has resolved to recommend to the President and that there should be, or the President will issue an executive order regarding this policy,” sabi ni acting Health Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire sa press briefing sa Palasyo kahapon.
Ang ginagawa aniya ngayon ng DOH ay impormahan ang publiko kaugnay sa naturang IATF resolution na nagsasaad ng boluntaryong pagsusuot ng face mask sa open spaces, hindi matataong lugar, at mga lugar na may maayos na bentilasyon.
Ang senior citizens at immune-compromised individuals ay pinapayohan pa rin na patuloy na magsuot ng face mask.
Ang ganap na pag-aalis sa mandatory mask mandate ay ipa-pilot sa last quarter ng 2022, kapag umayos na ang CoVid-19 booster vaccination coverage. (ROSE NOVENARIO)
