DALAWANG Pinoy movie ang nabigyang pagkakataon para maipalabas sa 32nd Tokyo International Film Festival sa Japan (TIFFJP), ito ay ang Food Lore: Island of Dreams ni Erik Matti na kabilang sa World Focus Powered ng Aniplex Inc., at ang Untrue ni Sigrid Andrea P. Bernardo na kasama sa The Japan Foundation Asia Center presents CROSSCUT ASIA #06: Fantastic Southeast Asia.
Ang Island of Dreams, ay bahagi ng food anthology series ng HBO Asia na Food Lore, na nagkaroon ng world premiere noong Oktubre 30. May pangalawa itong pagpapalabas noong sumunod na araw. Ipinamalas ng episode ni Matti ang kultura ng Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay-pokus sa lokal na lutuin. Tampok dito sina Angeli Bayani, Yul Servo, Ina Feleo, at Joey Marquez.
Maliban sa Island of Dreams, ipinalabas din ang Vietnam episode ng Food Lore na He Serves Fish, She Eats Flower ni Phan Ðãng Di.
Nagkaroon naman ng international premiere ang Untrue noong Oktubre 29 at ipinalabas ito ulit noong Oktubre 31. Ang Untrue, na pinagbibidahan nina Cristine Reyes at Xian Lim.
“What I like is doing psychological thrillers, because you can see a person and kill that person. With horror, there are so many entities and demons, I don’t know how to kill them,” ani Bernardo sa The Discreet Charm of Girl’s Horror Talk. Guest speaker si Bernardo sa CROSSCUT ASIA #06: Fantastic Southeast Asia symposium kasama ang kapwa Filipinang manunulat at direktor na si Antoinette Jadaone at Laotian-American direktor na si Mattie Do.
