Cavitex toll rate tumaas ng piso

INAPROBAHAN ng toll regulatory board (TRB) ang petisyon sa karag­dagang toll rate para sa Phase 1 ng Segment 1 (R1 Expressway) En­hance­ment ng Manila Cavite Expressway Pro­ject, na kapwa inihain ng Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) at ng Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) upang bigyan ng awto­ridad ang PRA at CIC na mangolekta ng dagdag na toll rates sa 24 Oktubre 2019.

Magsisimulang ma­ngo­lekta ang expressway operator ng karag­dagang P1.00, P2.00 at P3.00 para sa Vehicle Class 1, 2 at 3 kaya ang magiging toll rate ng 7-kilometer Cavitex Seg­ment 1 (R1) ay papalo na sa  P25, P50 at P75 para sa tatlong kategorya ng mga sasakyan.

“Cavitex has heavily invested to improve and enhance the services to its motorists, so this is a very important development for us, to be able to keep on delivering our promise of a high quality and safe expressway,” pahayag ni CIC President Bobby Bontia.

Ang kasalukuang toll sa CAVITEX ay P24 para sa 7-kilometer stretch para sa class 1 vehicles, P48 sa class 2 at P72 naman sa class 3.

“CIC has been invest­ing on the upkeep and improvement of CAVITEX to prevent dete­rioration of the express­way and maintain its high-quality standards since we started our operations. Our holding company Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) has taken over the CIC concession in 2013 and immediately a year after, undertook a road resurfacing project for the R1 segment to give motorists a better experience,” ani Bontia.

Patuloy ang CIC sa P1.1-bilyong enhance­ment ng CAVITEX para sa phase 1 na aabot sa P800-milyon para sa pagpapalawak ng lanes (widening of lanes) at konstruksiyon ng isang left-turn facility sa Mari­na flyover na binuksan noong Disyembre 2018; at ang pagpapatayo ng phase 2 na P300-milyong pagpapalawak ng mga tulay sa Wawa, Las Piñas at Parañaque na inaasa­hang matatapos sa Mayo 2020.
