“We are fortunate, as we are grateful, that the Philippines has been a fertile ground for outstanding women in various sectors. The Philippines ranks high in the Asia Pacific region and in the world in terms of gender equality,” sabi ng Pangulo.

“Generations have been witness to the amazing ways by which women have transformed societies by playing the role of mothers, workers, intellectuals, educators, caregivers, soldiers, activists, artists and leaders. Indeed, women are heroes,” dagdag ng Punong Ehekutibo.

“The entire world can look up to women — for their creativity and imagination, for their courage and boldness, for their self-sacrifice and charity. My administration shall strive to maintain this distinction as well as continue to recognize their invaluable contributions in sports, science, governance, education, public service and the arts.”

Nauna nang inamin ni Pangulong Duterte, impluwensiya sa kanya ng inang si Soledad “Nanay Soling” Roa Duterte ang maka-kaliwang paniniwalang politikal at magandang relasyon sa New People’s Army (NPA) .

“When I became mayor at the crossroads of the revolution of EDSA at itong mga NPA and ang relasyon ko sa NPA was really very good because of my mother. She used to go to the mountains kilala niya lahat. And sometimes bumababa lalo na ‘yung mga madre na kung saan-saan nanggaling, wala namang dormitoryo, mga NPA rin pala, they would go to the house for the night,” paliwanag ng Pangulo.
