Palasyo hugas-kamay sa ‘pinatay’ na FOI

HUGAS-KAMAY ang Palasyo sa pagkabigong lumusot sa Kongreso ng Freedom of Information (FOI) at anti-political dynasty bills, parehong kasama sa ipinangako ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III noong 2010 presidential elections.

Ayon kay Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., ginawa ng administrasyong Aquino ang lahat para maisabatas ang FOI at anti-dynasty bills ngunit ang aksiyon ng mga mambabatas na hindi ito ipasa ay base sa sentimyento ng kanilang constituents.

“The administration has done its part in pushing for the enactment of priority legislation such as the FOI and anti-dynasty bills.  As representatives of national and local constituencies, our legislators’ actions are based on their appreciation of their constituents’ sentiments,” ani Coloma.

Iginiit ni Coloma na suportado pa rin ng administrasyong Aquino ang mga prinsipyo ng FOI at ang pangangailangan ng isang enabling law para maipatupad ang probisyon na anti-political dynasty sa Saligang Batas.

“We affirm our support for the principles of FOI and the need for an enabling law to implement the constitutional provision regarding political dynasties,” ani Coloma.

Tiwala aniya ang Palasyo na ang suporta ng taong bayan sa mga nasabing prinsipyo ay ihahayag nila sa tamang pagpili ng mga kandidato sa darating na halalan.

“We trust that our people will reflect their support for these principles when they cast their votes in the next elections,” sabi pa ni Coloma.
