INIHATID pa mismo ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III kahapon ng umaga sa pintuan ng tanggapan ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) sina administration presidential at vice-presidential bets Mar Roxas at Leni Robredo para maghain ng kanilang certificate of candidacy (CoC) para sa 2016 elections.
Nauna rito, dakong 7 a.m. ay magkakasamang nagsimba sina Aquino, Roxas at Robredo pati na ang ilang opisyal, miyembro at tagasuporta ng Liberal Party (LP)) sa Manila Cathedral sa Intramuros, Manila.
“The President accompanied Secretary Roxas and Congresswoman Robredo at the Manila Cathedral before they went to the COMELEC offices to demonstrate his solidarity with them, in his capacity as chairman of the Liberal Party and as titular head of the ‘Daang Matuwid’ coalition,” ayon kay Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr.
Sinabi ng Pangulo na “excited” na siya sa eleksyon sa susunod na taon.
Naitala ni Aquino sa kasaysayan bilang bukod-tanging Pangulo na sinamahan pa hanggang Comelec ang kanyang mga ineendorsong presidential at vice presidential candidate bilang pagpapakita ng buong suporta sa kanilang kandidatura.
