Pagdinig sa FOI Bill sisimulan na

BALIK sa simula ang pagdinig ng mataas na kapulungan ng Kongreso sa pag-asang tuluyan nang maisabatas ngayong taon ang Freedom of Information (FOI) Bill.

Ito ay makaraang mabigong maisatas ang nasabing panukala sa nakaraang 15th Congress.

Ngayong araw ay magsisimula na ang pagdinig ng Senate committee on public information and mass media na pamumunuan ni Sen. Grace Poe.

Kabilang sa kompirmadong dadalo ay sina Secretary Herminio “Sonny” Coloma ng Office of the Presidential Communications and Operations Office, Undersecretary Manuel “Manolo” Quezon III ng Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office, Deputy Director General Vicente Agdamag ng National Security Council, Acting Chief for Legal Affairs Atty. Brando Noronia ng Civil Service Commission, at State Counsels Atty. Charlene Mae Tapic-Castro gayundin si Atty. Ulysses Aguilar ng Department of Justice.

Mula sa media group, dadalo sina Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas President Herman Z. Basbaño, National Press Club President Benny Antiporda, Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism Multimedia Director Eduardo Lingao, Rappler CEO Maria Ressa, at Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility Trustee Vergel Santos.

Bukod sa kanila, marami pa ang imbitado mula sa Justice Department at academe.

Layunin ng panukala na magkaroon ng access ang taumbayan sa lahat ng mga impormasyon sa tanggapan ng pamahalaan upang lalong mapalakas ang kampanya laban sa korupsyon.
