‘Lucky Boy’ si Supt. Vanie Martinez

TALAGANG laging dinadapuan ng suwerte ang batang Muntinlupa City na si Police Chief Inspector Vanie Martinez.

E walang kamalay-malay si Martinez na ang ranggo niyang chief inspector (major in military) ay madaragdagan pa ng isang guhit.

Ang order ng pamunuan ng board of promotions ng Philippine National Police ay epektibo sa February 18, 2016. Kaya simula noon pang February 18, ay inilagay na niya sa kanyang magkabilang balikat ang insignia ng Police Superintendent (full pledge Lt. Colonel sa military).

Kung susuriin ang track records ni Martinez, hindi naman kayang bayaran ng salapi ang kanyang mga naibahagi sa pamunuan ng PNP.

Isa sa malaking accomplishment na naibahagi niya sa PNP ay nang isa siya sa mga PNP officers na nakaaresto sa wanted na si Donald Dee, ang real state businessman na inireklamo at isinasangkot sa housing anomaly sa Pampanga.

Go, go lang pare. Congrats!!!

128th Birth Anniversary of Brig. Gen. Vicente P. Lim Sr., commemorated

THE command of the PNP-Region 4-A in Camp Vicente Lim commemorated the 128th Birth Anniversary of the late Brigadier General Vicente Podico Lim Sr., to whom this camp was named after.

In a simple ceremony held last February 24, 2016, the great general was given tribute for his exemplified courage and heroism as a Filipino soldier who fought during the World War II.

During the ceremony, PRO4A Regional Director Chief Supt. Richard Albano expressed his gratitude to the Lim family especially to his great granddaughter Ms. Margarita Isabel Marty-Estrella who was the guest of honor and Speaker in the event.

“As we commemorate the birth of General Lim, let us continue to be inspired by his deeds, principle and loyalty in the true service of God, country, and people. Let us also emulate, inculcate and imbue in our mind the legacy of General Lim – his patriotism, ideals, and quest for learning, excellence, and heroism in the defense of our motherland,” Albano said in his message.

During his message, Albano showed and read the congratulatory letter sent to him and his parents in March 1984 by the Lim family in behalf of BG Lim and his wife Pilar Hidalgo as he graduated from the Philippine Military Academy “Maharlika” PMA Class ‘84 as a young lieutenant.  

“I am not sure if it is a coincidence that the Lim family is the first one who gave me my first rank insignia and now that I am assigned here in Camp Vicente Lim and meet the family, I would like to take this opportunity to thank them. To the Lim family, thank you very much,” RD Albano said.

After his message, the regional director of PNP-Region 4-A presented to Ms. Estrella as a token the replica of his first rank insignia as a symbol of his gratitude.

Ms. Estrella, the great granddaughter of General Lim as the distinguished guest also expressed her gratitude for the men and women of the PNP for keeping not only her family safe but the entire nation as well.

Ms. Estrella mentioned that she truly admires her Lolo Vicente and his great achievements was truly emulating as he genuinely possessed the humility in leadership and his virtue to inspire and lead. “If victory is the measure of our strength, let defeat be the measure of our character,” Ms. Estrella said in her message.

As the traditional way of commemorating a great hero, wreath laying was offered lead by RD PRO4A, representatives from PDEA4A, NFSTI, BFP4A NFTI, NJMPTI, RIAS 4A and 4B, NPTI, OCD4A, Gen Vicente P Lim Memorial Lodge UD, NAPOLCOM 4A and 4B and the City Government of Calamba. After which, a 21 Gun Salute was accorded to the late Brigadier General Lim Sr.

Meanwhile, Albano and Deputy Regional Director for Administration Chief Supt. Ronald V. Santos presented a memento to Ms. Margarita Isabel M. Estrella, for her precious time shared as Guest of Honor and Speaker during the celebration of 128th Birth Anniversary of General Vicente P Lim.
