KABILANG ang pelikulang Mulat sa limang kalahok sa darating na MMFF New Wave Category na mapapanood mula December 17 to 24, 2014 sa SM Megamall at Glorietta-4 cinemas.
Tampok sa Mulat sina Loren Burgos, Jake Cuenca, at Ryan Eigenmann. Ito’y mula sa pamamahala ni Direk Diane Ventura.
Paano niya ide-describe ang pelikula at ang lead actress niya ritong si Loren. ”Basically love story siya set in a psychological thriller genre. It tackles the evolution of romantic relationships. Parang how we let our past and emotional baggage and issues from the past affect the present moment.
“When we should try to be conscious and awake in this moment. All we have is now. The past and future are mere concepts, hence the title,” saad ni Direk Diane
“Loren is a revelation. She caught my attention the moment I saw her in the audition room. She had presence and I knew she had something special even before she actually auditioned for the film. And true enough I was right. My suspicions were confirmed.
“She’s a natural and the camera loves her and she was able to maintain her ground and presence with the veterans despite her neophyte status,” dagdag pa niya.
Si Loren man ay hanga rin sa kanyang direktor dito na animo mayroon silang mutual admiration club. “Bilib na bilib ako kay Direk Diane! She is a hard-working and courageous woman!
“I admire her for being fearless and not only is she beautiful on the outside, ang ganda pa ng personality niya. She can get along with anybody. Sobrang supportive niya sa akin during our shoot and most importantly, she believed in me,” pakli naman ni Loren.
Si Loren ay under ng Star Magic at biggest break niya ang Mulat.
Inusisa rin namin ang dalaga kung ano ang papel niya rito? “Ako yung lead dito and ipapakita rito ang dalawang magkaibang relationships ko with Jake and Ryan.
Mulat is a story about a young woman’s self-discoveries, her contrasting intimate relationships with two men and her perceptions of reality.”
Ano ang masasabi niya na kahit baguhan pa lang siya ay nabigyan ng big break sa pelikulang Mulat at sina Jake and Ryan pa ang leading men niya?
“Yes! Super-suwerte ko na kahit bago pa lang akong actress, nakasama ko na ang dalawang napakahusay na actors sa Pilipinas.
“Kinabahan talaga ako, kasi hindi ko sila kilala before kami nag-shoot. So, kailangan namin mag-instant bonding when we met minutes before we started shooting for our film,” saad pa ng aktres na look-alike ni Dawn Zulueta.
Dagdag pa ni Loren, “They are both professional veteran actors and I am extremely blessed to have been given the chance to work with them. Kasi, I’m still a new upcoming actress.”
Sa panig naman ni Direk Diane, ano ang masasabi niya kina Jake and Ryan at hindi ba siya na-intimidate sa kanilang dalawa dahil magagaling sila at award winning actors?
“When it comes to work, I don’t think about status or intimidation. A film is a collaborative process. Everyone involved in it is just as important as anyone else on set. With this in mind, I go to work and try to treat everyone equally para walang intimidation or status issues.
“My goal is to create an environment conducive to producing the best energy and effort from the cast and crew. And personally naman, yung pagkatao ko din, I don’t get intimidated much.
“I understand na pareho lang naman tayong lahat na tao. Amazing and imperfect at the same time. Not better, not inferior, just different. Pero more in common than we actually think. Pare-pareho lang naman tayo kumakain at natutulog, so why be intimidated,” nakangiting sagot niya.
“But at the same time, I’m very privileged and really lucky to have had the chance to work with these amazingly talented actors. They made my job so much easier ‘coz they knew what they were doing.
“They have made a fan out of me after having known them as actors and as regular people. They’re very humble and I appreciate humility a lot, especially in an ego driven industry,” dagdag pa ni Direk Diane.
