Belgica pinagpapaliwanag si ex-Cong. Quimbo vs maanomalyang flood control projects

PINAGPAPALIWANAG ni dating Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) chairman Greco Belgica si dating Marikina 2nd District Rep. Stella Quimbo na harapin ang mga pagdinig ukol sa imbestigasyon ng maanomalyang flood control projects.

Ipinunto ni Belgica na mahalaga ang boses ni Quimbo sa imbestigasyon dahil miyembro siya ng bicameral conference committee at nagsilbing vice chairperson ng House Committee on Appropriations sa deliberasyon ng 2025 national budget.

Tumayo siya bilang committee chairperson kasunod ng pagbibitiw ni Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co. Bahagi rin si Quimbo ng tinatawag na small committee, kung saan umano nangyari ang insertions sa 2025 national budget.

“Why is Stella Quimbo absent from the flood control investigations and budget hearing? The ‘blank items’ in the 2025 GAA and the diversion of billions in flood control funds happened on her watch,” wika ni Belgica.

“These funds, meant for Metro Manila flood projects, went to unspecified district initiatives instead. This budget has been labeled the most corrupt ever. Her voice is critical to the investigation,” dagdag niya.

Tinawag ni dating Justice Secretary Silvestre Bello III si dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez at si Quimbo bilang utak ng mga maanomalyang flood control projects.

Ayon kay Bello, hindi lang dapat nakatuon ang imbestigasyon at mga reklamo sa mga contractors at Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officers, kundi pati sa mga lider ng Kongreso na siyang nasa likod ng katiwalian.

Batay sa record, si Quimbo ay may apat na infrastructure projects sa kanyang distrito. Naglaan din siya ng P950 milyon para gawin ang transform Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC) na isang “Smart Campus.” Ang proyekto ay napunta sa Sunwest Construction and Development Corporation, isang kompanya na iniuugnay kay Co.
