Gene Juanich, proud sa magandang review sa play nilang ‘Anything Goes’

ABALA ngayon ang talented na recording artist at Broadway actor na si Gene Juanich sa kanilang Off-Broadway show titled ‘Anything Goes’.

Kinamusta namin si Gene sa pinagkakaabalahan niya, lately.

“Eto po, super busy po sa rehearsal ng aming bagong Off-Broadway show na ang title po is ‘Anything Goes’. Na magra-run po from August 16 to September 7, 2025 sa Main Stage ng Noel S. Ruiz Theatre ng CM Performing Arts Center sa Long Island, New York. Under po ito sa musical direction ni Samantha Free, stage manager is Kaitlyn Otto at sa overall direction & choreography ni Kevin Burns.” 

Super-saya naman ni Gene dahil sa magandang review sa kanya sa naturang musical play. Ito ang bahagi ng nasabing review:

Cole Porter’s ANYTHING GOES, the latest theatrical venture by CM Performing Arts Center (referred to hereinafter as CMPAC), is a surefire hit. Directed by Kevin Burns, the production dazzles from start to finish. Under Burns’ direction, viewing the production felt as though you were stepping back in time to 1934.

Michael C. Sherwood makes an appearance as the “Ship’s Captain.” Sherwood delights with his scattered one-liners throughout the show, expertly bringing new twists and turns to the story. The “Ship’s Purser” is portrayed by Gene Juanich, and through his comic skill, Juanich makes this character unforgettable. 

Reaction naman dito ni Gene, “Tuwang tuwa po ako, kasi nabanggit po yung name ko sa review nila, sobrang nakaka-proud po.”

Bukod sa musical play, may upcoming concert din si Gene.

Aniya, “Yes po sir, bale sa September 19 po naman ito sa Astoria World Manor po sa Queens, New York. Ito po yung concert ng ating Asia’s Powerhouse Diva na si Dessa, together with Medwin po ng True Faith and Shar ng Smokey Mountains. Isa po ako sa guest performers dito.”

Anong klaseng satisfaction ang nararamdaman niya kapag nagpe-perform  sa stage?

“Sobrang saya po ang feeling kapag nagpe-perform sa theater stage, ibang klaseng pakiramdam po, kasi lahat gagawin mo-singing, dancing and acting po. At ang dami-dami pong dapat imemorize, yung lyrics ng mga songs, ‘yung routine or choreography and yung mga lines nyo po sa script, kaya sobrang demanding po talaga ang musical theater,” esplika pa niya.

Sa ‘Pinas ba, wala siyang plano na magconcert?  “Siyempre po mayroon sir, kapag nakapagbakasyon na po ako riyan, hopefully po early next year-2026 po sir.”

If magkaroon siya ng concert dito, sino ang wish niyang makasama?

“Definitely po ang aking super-idol na si Ms. Lea Salonga. Alam kong kahit na imposible, sana balang-araw ay makasama ko po siya sa isang show,” sambit pa ni Gene.
