NEWSMAKER talaga si Angel Locsin dahil pati sa module ay ginawa siyang ehemplo ng maestrong taga-Occidental Mindoro para sa Physical Education subject nito na ang topic ay tungkol sa mga matatabang tao o obese person.
Isip siguro ng maestro na mas madali itong maiintindihan at maaaliw ang mga estudyante niya sa paggamit ng pangalan ng aktres.
Dito siya nagkamali dahil tinilad-tilad siya ng supporters ni Angel at netizes na dahilan para mag-deactivate siya ng kanyang social media.
Nakarating naman ito sa pamunuan ng Department of Education o DepEd at kaagad humingi ng dispensa.
Ayon kay Roger F. Capa, Ceso VI, School Division Superintendent, ”This has reference with the post circulating on social media involving the DepEd Schools Division of Occidental Mindoro which drew reactions from the public.
“Upon initial investigation, this Office found out that the said material is not contained in the self-learning module (SLM) developed and quality assured by DepEd Central Office. The said material is a teacher-made assessment for a Grade 10 MAPEH class purposely to measure specific competencies of the learning area.
“Assessment of the learning outcomes in a particular subject is a primordial responsibility of a teacher. Development of tools for such assessments is an academic freedom every teacher enjoys. This is without prejudice to the fundamental principles of test construction which involves social content in which one of our teachers may not have met the standard.
“We would like to express our sincerest apology to the concerned individuals who may have been offended or harmed by this incident. The Department of Education does not tolerate nor condone any act of body shaming, ad hominem or any similar act of bullying both in the physical and virtual environments.
“This Office had already communicated with the concerned teacher and gathered facts from him. Rest assured that this matter will be given serious attention. Meanwhile, we appeal to the public to spare him from any ad hominem attacks as this single mistake will not define him as a person.
“We appreciate the feedback from the public for us to further improve the delivery of basic education in the province of Occidental Mindoro. It has been our strong commitment to provide quality education to all our learners as we navigate through the challenges of the new normal. Anyway, nang pumutok ang balitang ginawang ehemplo si Angel ng nasabing maestro ay dinedma niya para hindi na lumaki pa, pero nang humingi ng dispensa sa kanya ang Dep Ed ay dito siya umalma.
Nitong Linggo ng umaga ini-repost ni Angel ang sulat sa kanyang ng DepEd Superintendent at naglabas ng saloobin.
“I don’t mind the insults. Cheap comments do not define who I am. I intended to ignore this issue, but when I read deped’s statement, aba teka lang.
“What bothers me most is apart from teaching incorrect grammar to the students, DepEd seems unaffected that the said teacher is teaching bad conduct and sowing discrimination among the children. Anong mangyayare sa future kung ang mga kabataan ay tinuturuan ng pambabastos at pangungutya sa kapwa?
“This is the more relevant issue DepEd, that you should be held accountable and must correct. Sa inyo nakasalalay ang pag asa ng ating milyon-milyong kabataan.
“The said teacher should apologize to his students and all the students that read the module.
“I am fortunate that I had teachers who value good manners and right conduct. Every child deserves to have teachers like them. DepEd Philippines (will delete later).”
Maraming maestrang umayon sa post na ito ng aktres sa kanyang social media account at tama lang na humingi ng dispensa ang gumawa sa mga estudyante niya.
Iisa rin ang hiling ng lahat kay Angel, huwag i-delete ang kanyang post.
Samantala, all wells that ends well na sa kay Angel at kay AFP Southern Luzon Command Chief Lt. General Antonio Parlade, Jr. sa isyung red-tagging kasama ang kapatid nitong si Angela ‘Ella’ Colmenares.
Base sa post ng legal counsel ni Angel na si Atty. Joji Villanueva Alonso nitong Sabado, nagkaroon sila ng meeting with General Parlade sa opisina nito sa Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City kasama ang fiancé ng aktres na si Neil Arce.
Post ni Atty. Joji, ”In a meeting held today between AFP Southern Luzon Command Chief Lt. General Antonio Parlade, Jr. and actress Angel Locsin, the issues that cropped up these past weeks including the allegations against her and her sister Angela “Ella” Colmenares, were discussed, threshed out and cleared.
“Miss Locsin expressly denounces violence and terrorism in any form and supports all efforts of the government to maintain the safety and protection of its citizens.
“For his part, Lt. General Parlade conveyed to Ms. Locsin his appreciation for her contribution to the AFP and her continuing advocacy to help the poor, the impoverished and the helpless.”
