Niño Muhlach is an inordinately generous dad.
As a matter of fact, the actor-turned businessman was able to surprise his son Sandro when he gifted him with a brand-new car (a Geely Coolray Sport supposedly priced a cool P1, 198,000) to mark two milestones: his 19th birthday and senior high-school graduation.
He turned 19 last June 15.
On June 16, Niño shared a vlog on his Instagram account showing his surprise with Sandro’s lackadaisical or so-so reaction upon seeing his new car.
The video has been viewed on his account for over 57,000 times.
The comments section was inundated with congratulatory messages and birthday wishes for Sandro.
Nevertheless, some netizens are pretty wondering why Sandro had a seemingly lukewarm response to his father’s surprise gift.
Asked what made him decide to buy his son a brand new car, Niño said that Sandro’s already 19 years old at kaga-graduate lang daw nito ng senior high school.
“At saka siyempre,” he added as an afterthought, “binata na.”
Now that Sandro’s older, Niño has made some adjustments with his parenting style.
He now gives his son more independence, but still offers him some guidance when it comes to making big decisions.
“Siyempre, he still lives with me.
But Niño never forgets to remind his son to value his education more than anything else.
According to Niño, Sandro is now preparing up for college and is pursuing a degree in Advertising at the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sto. Tomas.
