Protesta kontra jeepney phase-out ngayon

“Under this modernization program, big corporations and even financial institutions will gain much profits at the expense of the livelihood of our jeepney drivers and operators. In reality, ordinary jeepney drivers and operators will not be able to afford the skyrocketing costs to comply with various requirements of this program,” ayon kay Reyes.

“Furthermore, despite the costs associated with the modernization, the government will not provide subsidy to hundreds of thousands of affected jeepney drivers. Instead, they propose loan programs that will eventually put jeepney drivers in great debt as financial institutions impose high interests and unjust payment terms,” dagdag ni Reyes.
