CLAUDINE Barretto is veritably dismayed with Senator Tito Sotto’s “na-ano lang” remark about DSWD Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, who happens to be a single parent.
Claudine intimated on her Instagram post, “Ninong namin kayo ni Raymart sa kasal so siguro naman po alam ninyong hindi ako “NA ANO LANG!!!”
Na-hurt si Claudine Barretto sa patutsada supposedly ni Senator Tito Sotto sa single parent na si Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo.
Sa Senate hearing ng Commission of Appointments with regard to Taguiwalo’s confirmation, Senator Tito Sotto mentioned in jest na “na-ano lang” ang cabinet secretary primarily because of her being a single mom.
Ito’y salitang kalye para sa mga naanakan o nabuntis na babae but devoid of any husband or separated from their spouse.
Para kay Claudine, this is most unfair and not acceptable.
Claudine is a mother of two children and is separated from her spouse Raymart Santiago.
Ninong sa kasal ng dalawa si Senator Sotto.
In her Instagram post, Claudine said that she’s proud to be a single mom.
“Senator Tito Sotto, I am a single mother of 2 and I’m proud of myself and I have so much respect para sa lahat ng mga single mothers na tumatayong nanay at tatay.
“Para sa akin bayani ang (mga) single mothers, wala ho kaming dayoff, suweldo o benefits bilang isang single mother.
“Ninong namin kayo ni Raymart sa kasal so siguro naman po alam ninyong hindi ako NA ANO LANG!!!”
Apart from Claudine’s vocal pronouncements, Pokwang, the Broadway actress Lea Salonga and Aiza Seguerra have voiced out their disgust and discontentment with Senator Sotto’s supposedly uncalled for banter.
Anyway, nag-apologize na si Senator Sotto sa kanyang hindi kagandahang biro.
“Kung minasama nila, I’m sorry, I apologize. They don’t understand the joke.”
He also made mention that it was not his intention to embarrass Taguiwalo.
“I will be the last person in this country to disrespect a woman,” he avers. “I have two daughters who are separated, single, and have children.
“I don’t think there should be any big fuss about it.”
Oo nga naman.
