NAKATUTUWA ang reaksiyon ni direk Sigrid Bernardo kaugnay ng pagwawagi niya sa Asian Academy Creative Awards o AACA bilang Best Direction (Feature Film) para sa pelikulang I’mPerfect ng Nathan Studios Inc.., CMB Tech Services, VLTF.
Ayon sa Facebook post ni direk Sigrid, tinawagan siya ni Chocs Grace na nagtititili. Hindi nga raw niya ito maintindihan kaya ang akala niya mayroong emergency.
At dahil naputol, nag-message na lamang si Chocs sa kanya. Mensahe ni Chocs, “Nakapasa ka sa AACA as one of the National Winners!!”
At ang sagot niya, “Ano ba itong award na ’to? winner?! Baka scam ’to!”
Pagkaraan ay nakatanggap naman siya ng tawag mula kay Sylvia Sanchez na umiiyak.
“Then Jojo called me, crying. And doon biglang nag-flashback lahat. How this project started, the chaos, the challenges, the long days, and everything we went through to make it happen.”
Nagwagi nga si direk Sigrid ng Best Direction sa pelikulang idinirehe niya at entry ng Nathan Studios Inc sa 51st Metro Manila Film Festival na ipinalabas noong December noong 20025.
Kaya naman ganoon na lamang ang pasasalamat ng magaling na direktor sa Nathan Studios gayundin sa pamilya ni Sylvia, ang Atayde family.
Aniya, “Thank you to Nathan Studios Inc., the Atayde family and especially Mamang Ms. Sylvia, for believing in this project and in me. Salamat sa puso na binigay niyo dito.
“To the entire team, from pre-production to shooting to post-production, thank you for your hard work, patience, and for staying through all the craziness. Missing everyone!
“This film wouldn’t be what it is without you.
“To my actors and your families, thank you for giving your hearts and souls to this film and for trusting me with your characters and stories.
Pinasalamatan din niya ang AACA sa pagkilalang ibinigay sa kanya.
“And to the Asian Academy Creative Awards, thank you for recognizing my work and giving me this National Award.”
Inamin ni direk Sigrid na hindi niya ginagawang big deal ang award subalit minsan dahil sa isang award, napapahinto at napapalingon ka.
“I don’t really make a big deal out of awards, but sometimes an award makes you stop and look back.
But, when I do, I realize that the best part was never doing it alone.
“It was the people who believed in the film when it was still just an idea, who showed up, fought through the hard days, trusted the process, and reminded me to keep going.
“So yes, my name may be on this award, but in my heart, this belongs to all of you.
“Because every film I make carries a little piece of the people who helped me make it.
“And for that, I will always be grateful. ”
Sa huli inanyayahan ni direk na panoorin ang I’mPerfect na palabas sa Netflix.
“Maraming salamat Team I’mPerfect!!! (Still showing on NETFLIX! Huy, Tara nood na!!)”
Hindi ito ang unang pagkilalang natanggap ni direk Sigrid mula sa ibang bansa. Ang pelikula niyang Ang Huling Chacha ni Anita (2013) ay napili sa Produire au Sud sa Nantes, Frances. Ang Kita Kita (2017) na nagtampok kina Alessandra de Rossi at Empoy Marquez ay nagkaroon ng world premiere sa Japan sa 12th Osaka Asian Film Festival noong March 2017.
