MISTULANG isang Marites si Pangulong Rodigo Duterte na nagpakalat ng tsismis na may ikinakasa umanong na destabilisasyon sa halalan ang mga komunistang grupo sa pakikipagsabwatan ng mga ‘dilawan.’

Sinabi ni Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) information officer Marco Valbuena, ang mga pahayag ni Duterte ay repleksiyon ng ‘political panic’ at lumalakas na pangamba na hindi niya maaagaw ang halalan nang hindi magdudulot ng malawakang protesta.

“Duterte’s statements are a reflection of political panic and the growing fear that he might not be able to steal the elections without inciting widespread protests,” ayon kay Valbuena sa isang kalatas.

Iisa aniya ang himig nina Duterte at presidential bet Sen. Panfilo Lacson sa paglalako ng imbentong “intelligence reports, a communist plot, alliance with the opposition” upang palabasin sa publiko na may nagbabalak na idiskaril ang eleksiyon.

Kahalintulad din aniya ng tono ng diktador na si Ferdinand Marcos ang itinatambol ni Duterte na mga babala at pagkakasa ng senaryo bago idineklara ang batas militar noong 21 Setyembre 1972.

“Duterte is now singing a tune from the Marcos songbook. His statements echo warnings and scenario-building of Ferdinand Marcos made fifty years ago prior to the declaration of martial law in September 21, 1972.”

Giit ni Valbuena, minamadali ni Duterte ang pagluluto ng senaryo na may magdidiskaril ng halalan sa harap ng lumalakas na ‘political isolation’ sa kanyang rehimen at lumalagong kilusang masa laban sa Marcos-Duterte tandem.

“The growing anti-Duterte and anti-Marcos movement is developing around the election campaign of leading oppositionists Leni Robredo and Francis Pangilinan,” ani Valbuena.

Nanawagan siya sa sambayanang Filipino na manatiling alerto at mapagbantay laban sa mga pekeng babala ni Duterte dahil maaaring indikasyon umano ito nang paglulunsad ng mga marahas na pag-atake gaya ng mga pambobomba at asasinasyon na ibibintang sa CPP at NPA upang maisagawa ang malawakang pag-aresto sa mga aktibista, mga miyembro ng oposisyon o pagdeklara ng martial law.

“The Filipino people must continue to mount large mass actions to show their protests against the Duterte regime’s bloody suppression, corruption and national treachery, and to fight for their urgent economic demands amid rising fuel prices and seething crisis,” ani Valbuena.

“Any plan to disrupt the elections through violent acts will most likely be the handiwork of Duterte himself, who is not a stranger to bloody tactics as evidenced by the drug war killings, the bombing of Marawi, the aerial bombing drive and cold-blooded murder of revolutionaries and activists.”
