Heart Evangelista has issued a confirmation that her parents, Rey and Cecile Ongpauco, have parted ways a long time ago. Ito ang sagot ni Heart sa kanyang Instagram followers na nagtataka kung bakit kadalasa’y absent si Cecile sa get-togethers ng kanilang pamilya. Tulad na lang nitong magdiwang ng kaarawan ang ama ni Heart na si Rey. Present in the said occasion were Heart’s sisters Michelle and Camille, husband Chiz Escudero, who came with his two children Chesi and Joaquin.
When a netizen asked why Mrs. Ongpauco was not in attendance, Heart answered in a straightforward manner that they separated already a long time ago.
“They are happier this way and we support that,” she ventured. A self-confessed daddy’s girl, Heart shared on Instagram how she loves and respects her dad. She is happy that her dad was able to get over his illness with flying colors. Ilang buwan rin nag-undergo ng radiation therapy si Mr. Ongpauco na nagtapos nitong Mayo.
On the other hand, Heart’s last post about her mom was more than two years ago already. Sinabi niya noon na marami man silang misunderstanding, she is thankful for all the things that she was able to learn from her. “Thinking about everything my mom and I have been through bring up many raw emotions,” she said sounding sincere.
“But there are things that are for sure: Mom allowed me to explore and discover myself. Even when I made right or wrong decisions, she tirelessly kept an eye on me.
“Mom taught me to live everyday with a grateful heart, to be happy about the little as well as big things in life.
“March 2017 rin nang huling nagbahagi si Heart ng throwback photo ng kanyang mga magulang. Isa sa mga huling retrato na nai-share ng Kapuso actress na kasama niya ang kanyang ina at ama ay noon pang kanyang 30th birthday.
